Toy truck gifts provided with boys' T-shirts at Kohl's have been recalled, the Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced.
About 9,000 of the Big Movers Super Car toy trucks were provided as gifts with the purchase of Big Movers T-shirts in February and March, the commission said in a statement.
Connections in the trucks' battery compartment can smolder or catch the trucks on fire, the statement said.
It said the manufacturer, Happy Shirts, of Honolulu, has received one report of a truck catching fire and three reports of a truck smoldering when batteries were inserted. No injuries have been reported.
The 4-inch long blue trucks have oversized tires and a flashing light on top, and were sold with a yellow-red-and-blue logo on the hood, the statement said. The navy T-shirts were sold in boys' sizes S, M and L.
The statement sasid the items were sold at Kohl's stores nationwide and at www.Kohls.com for about $20.
Consumers should immediately take the toy trucks from children and remove the battery, the statement said. They can contact Happy Shirts for instructions on returning the truck for a refund.
For additional information, contact Happy Shirts toll-free at (855) 354-2779 between 3 and 11 p.m. Fort Wayne time Monday through Friday, or visit the company's website at www.happyshirts.com
