WEST LAFAYETTE – Kelsey Barlow scored 14 points, including 11 in the second half, to lead Purdue over Illinois 75-60 on Saturday.
Ryne Smith scored 12 points, all from three-point range, and Terone Johnson and D.J. Byrd had nine each for the Boilermakers (12-3, 2-0 Big Ten), who have won three straight.
Brandon Paul scored 17 points and D.J. Richardson had 15 points and six rebounds for the Fighting Illini (12-3, 1-1), who have lost three of their last five games.
Purdue led at halftime 26-24, then started the second half on a 26-5 run. The spurt was capped with a three-pointer by Byrd with 12:08 left.
The Boilermakers pushed the lead as high as 27 points in the second half.
