Purdue wins Little Caesars Bowl

Akeem Shavers rushed for 148 yards as Purdue defeated Western Michigan 37-32 in the Little Caesars Bowl Tuesday at Ford Field in Detroit.

Raheem Mostert returned a kick 99 yards for a touchdown and Reggie Pegram scored on a 1-yard reception and a 1-yard rush to help the Boilermakers to a victory in their first bowl game since 2007.

Purdue (7-6) intercepted four passes. Defensive end Gerald Gooden had two interceptions.

Purdue's Bruce Gaston recovered a fumble at Western Michigan's 24 with less than two minutes remaining to clinch the victory

Jordan White had 13 catches for 249 yards and one touchdown for the Broncos (7-6).
